Edge Of Tomorrow Gets a New Title for the Sequel

If you’ve seen Edge of Tomorrow, the underrated, action-filled, futuristic Alien war film from 2014, you (like myself and many other viewers) probably enjoyed it and would appreciate seeing a sequel. It’s been in discussion for a while, with both Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt raving about the idea for the next one, and now director Doug Liman is too. Not only that, but in an interview with Collider, he’s confirmed Cruise and Blunt’s reprise as their roles and although there’s no release date as of yet, the sequel is apparently a prequel and does now have a name; Live, Die, Repeat and Repeat.

If you purchased Edge of Tomorrow on home media, the name might be familiar to you. As marketing began for the film post-release, the tagline “Live. Die. Repeat” was placed provocatively on nearly all branding for the original film’s home release, effectively changing the title in most people’s minds. This seems to have taken effect on Liman and his team 3 years later, and according to Liman, the sequel will change the way we think about sequels.

With Cruise and Blunt both currently filming for their respective films, and Liman signed on for Justice League Dark, there’s no indication when they will begin shooting this prequel. But they have our attention all the same.

Live, Die, Repeat and Repeat has not got an official release date. Edge of Tomorrow is available on DVD, Blu-Ray and On-Demand services.
