Epic Final Wonder Woman Trailer Drops

With release of the highly anticipated but mildly received Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice last year, fans were teased the origins of the comic-book icon Wonder Woman, brought to life on the big screen by Gal Gadot. This year fans will bear witness to her origins during World War One in her upcoming solo film.

The trailer shows a mix of footage we’ve seen and brand new pieces, such as the main villains Doctor Poison and Ares, and tells the synopsis of the film in a more narrative order. We see a young Diana, both as a child and in-training, and we see her plight as she leaves her home city of Themyscira to fight the forces of evil taking place in Europe, accompanied by Steve Trevor (Chris Pine).

Based on previous DCCU records, there’s a lot of pressure riding on Warner Bros. to get this right, and we’ve been fooled before when it comes to trailers looking epic and lots of fun (i.e. Suicide Squad). However, the premise of this film is set 100 years ago, and looks to be an all-star cast with a thrilling, serious, but still occasionally humorous plot. We must have faith for now.

Wonder Woman is released on June 2nd in the USA.
